My wifes 2004 Deville

I wonder if anyone can help me, i have an imported 2004 DeVille ( or my wife does) Shes been trying to use the Navigation for a while and it simply doesnt work, i was wondering if it could be the change of country, when i bought my ESV i had to have it reconfigured at a cost of £800, it cost me a similar amount in my previous Escalade, is it possible for me to do this myself? As my wife is having difficulties without the Navigation, and there are no cadillac dealers in this countery, i have to get servicing and repairs done at my UK equivelant vauxhall dealer, it often proves costly
