Glad to see this worked out for you. It is interesting that your display didn't show the dashes "---" briefly and then the number. Mine did, but it may be a matter of system latency (the time the computer takes to complete the rewrite of the EEPROM) being fast enough that the dashes never had a chance to show up. Or it could be a revision in the IPC firmware that causes this difference - anyway no matter.
As to the suspension, you can get the relay and socket kit at any Cadillac dealer, or most good parts stores that can order AC Delco parts. I got mine at a local parts plus franchised dealer and just needed to supply the AC Delco part #'s, he ordered them in and it cost about $10 less overall than the dealer price I was quoted.
The instructions for modification and fitment are contained in a GM TSB on the subject, it has been posted online in numerous places (I don't have a link at my immediate disposal) if you search the suspension/steering forum, you should be able to find the procedeure for splicing the relay into the harness to get rid of the message.

I find it odd that your 97 concours doesn't already show this data. My mom has a 97 D'elegance (all digital IPC) and it shows all the data by cycling through the list with the info button. I think the concours may not show RPM's by default because it has an analog tach, making the digital display somewhat redundant.
In any case, there is a way to change the option programming on the 97 (and later) to show items that aren't in the list by default. You'll need a factory manual, or someone here to pipe on on how it's done exactly, because it differs substantially from the way it is handled on the 95.
You might look in the eldo/seville forum too, I think there was a thread there a while back on how to do this on the analog IPC (same cluster was used in the 97-99 deville/seville and 97-2002 eldo). I seem to recall that the results were sometimes unpredictable based on some of the posts I remember reading.
Whatever you do, proceed with caution. Mis-setting IPC option parameters can trash the cluster (lock it up) and then you'll need to have it replaced to have proper functioning instruments.

Thanks for the TIP! I'm new to the forum and it's incredible as to how much you can learn about your Caddy. Can you direct me to a thread regarding the sound systems in the 1995 Concours, my CD player stopped accepting CDs into the player. OEM replacement head units are VERY expensive. Wanting to learn more on possible repair or do you replace with after-market? Then again I've learned that the Concours with premium soud installed is actually "BOSE" system and the speakers have issues with aftemarket forsay "Pioneer" head units. Appreciate any help offered here!
*******UPDATE********
Completed the instant DIC enhancement on my 95 Concours today and I love IT! Whats really weird is that my CD player is also now receiving and playing CDs even before I updated the DIC. I guess it just needed to reset itself overnight? I'm not sure, the problem started yesterday when I tried to play a CD that had a "homemade" CD LABEL (the ones that are stickers and are printed on your home printer) anyways seemed it was too thick and got stuck I was able to pull the CD out and I heard some nasty clicks come from the head unit and it wouldn't accept any other CDs. Who knows today it works and thats all that matters! By the way my DIC stated that there were "NO" Codes stored, past or present. In that I think this is a good thing, IS IT? Hard to believe everyone else seems to pull a code or two.

For some reason i`m getting the impression from all the previous info that the econ & auto are 2 separate buttons.
I got as far as PCM? prompt and i wanted to see if i could exit the diagnostics, in case i wanted to back out at any time, by pressing the AUTO button and nothing happened.I got out by putting the igniton in the off positon.
Why could`nt i exit the diagnostics by pressing the AUTO button?
Thanks for any info.

You must have one of the rare 95's with a heated windshield. With that option, the cluster gets the auto and econ buttons combined as one instead of having a seperate button for each function (so pressing it toggles whether you get auto or econ mode).
What is normally the auto button on models without the heated windshield gets reconfigured for the heated windshield on/off buttton. I'm not sure how this affects the option programming procedure, as I have not run across this setup myself. The factory service manual doesn't make any mention of the procedure being any different regardless of the cluster setup with or without heated windshield.
In any case, you should be able to back out of diagnostics by repeatedly pressing the OFF button several times until the cluster returns to normal operating mode. I have done this and it works, you just have to press it several times as opposed to hitting auto once to exit.
