    Installing after market Stereo "JVC"

I just ordered a JVC double din stereo that I plan on installing. I know there some sort of adapter I will need so no need of cutting wires for a perfect fit. How do you remove the rear seat so I can install 6*9 speakers in the rear?

The speakers in my '93 are accessed from the trunk. Are you sure yours are accessed by removing the seat? Mine have plastic hand-tighten nuts to hold covers surrounding the speakers. Take them off and the mounting hardware for the speakers can then be removed.

    -------------------------
do you have the BOSE stereo?

do you have the 10" sub under the rear shelf?
    --------------

How do you remove the rear seat
remove the bottom cushion - it just pulls up at the front - and out -
be sure to unplug the wire connector - on the passenger side - for the rear seat heat -

remove the seat belt/retainer bolts at the bottom of the seatback -

there are 4 spring clips that hold the top of the seatback in place -

to release these clips - use a long flat blade screwdriver -

start at the outside edge -
slip the screwdriver between the seat back and rear deck -

you can pull the seatback forward a little -
slide the screwdriver towards the center - a couple/few inches
you will feel the first clip -
GENTLY move the screwdriver around until the clip is released -

the first clip is the most difficult -

after the first one is released -
you can pull the seatback forward to see the other clips easily -

    ==============================

I would like to make a suggestion -

with all the goofy things going on with your car already -
hold off on the radio swap until all the other gremlins are worked out -

radio swaps are a PRIME SOURCE of additional problems in Cadillacs -

    it's just a thought -
