    A Few Codes and Advice

Hi. I have a CL, and I have the following codes in my system.

ABS C1295 (I assume this is referring to my third brake light, since I also get the traction control issue when using blinkers with the lights on. I also assume this might be tripping the CL?)

IPM B0429 (From what I can figure out, this won't throw a CL, and is nothing to really bother with?)

PCM P0171 and P0174 (Every time I have checked it, it has been in the history, but I assume this is related to a vacuum leak somewhere? I've just had the plenum replaced, but afterwards I experienced a racing idle and other weird crap resembling the vacuum leak I had on my last Deville. I'll be taking ti back this Friday - I trust the mechanic and assume he just missed something. Normally I'd do it myself but it's been raining here on every day off I have.)

AMP U1000 (I assume this is related to my aftermarket stereo. Is there any way to get rid of this code?)

    -------------------------
codes are meaningless without their definitions -
and no one has them ALL memorized -

that being said - some codes are fairly common -

B0429 - that refers to the rear seat heat/ac controller - probably the #3 MIX DOOR actuator -

    P0171 and P0174 - a BIG vacuum leak -
most common is the bellows-looking thing between the throttle body and the plenum -
it tends to split on the bottom - so you can's see it -
but run your finger under it - and you will be able to feel the split -

the other less-common cause is a split PCV hose - or rubber elbows -

U1000 - "U" codes are "lost data communications" codes -
the "data line" goes through every electronic device throughout the entire car -
"break" that link - and you are asking for all sorts of goofy electrical problems -

Cadillacs do NOT like to have their electronics messed with -

YES - your aftermarket amp is causing the problem -

Correct. ONLY P (PCM) codes will trip the MIL.
