    slight miss 4.9

    I have a problem with my 95 Deville 4.9. the problem it my car has a slight miss that gets stronger as the temp reaches operating range. any suggestions? thanks for all help

    How old are the plugs, wires, cap & rotor? A weak coil can't be ruled out either.

    Yep all the above. Check those tiny wires inside the distributor for shorts or at least make sure the Plastic wire insulation hasn't rubbed off and is touching the surrounding metal structure. Don't manipulate them too much as you will make them brittle wires worse. Try cleaning the white corrosion off the contacts in the cap, with a brass brush. Heat=resistance.

    I had a slight miss in my '95 Deville 4.9 about 4 years ago.A complete tune up fixed that.

    I replaced cap, rotor, wires plugs just over a month ago
