    Secondary AIR question

It seems as though the Check valve closer to the fire wall is stuck open. I am wondering if anyone has opened one of these check valves up and seen what the internals look like. Could it just be gummed up? Is there some type of serviceable component on the inside? Seems like these valves are in the $200 range and if I can avoid spending that on something I don't "need" It would be great.

I think the diaphragm chamber (at least) is crimped together. Junkyards would yield a cheap handful, and you could test them with a hand vacuum pump.

You are probably right about the J Yard. I will get some replacements and then crack this one open and see what lies within. No way do I see this check valve being worth $200.

I agree with Sub and I think he's right. Nothing more than a big vacuum diaphragm I'd bet. Looking forward to what you find.

    Re: Secondary AIR question

The thing is nothing more than a high-flow "EGR" vacuum operated check valve. When commanded and vacuum is applied, they open and allow fresh air from the AIR blower at fairly low pressure into the exhaust manifolds to complete the rich startup mixture exhaust gas burn and quickly light off the cat.
