1990 DeVille Coupe - New Purchase

I just purchased a 1990 DeVille Coupe. It has 135,000 miles on it, had the motor replaced several years ago which had 46,000 miles on it. The car has been in storage for the last 8 years. Has a big rust hole under hood on left fender skirt. Clean machine, seems to drive very well so far. I have only test driven it and pick it up tonight. Anything to look for while we now own it? Any issues, checks to perform? Cloth interior. Heater blower motor had a high pitch noise to it, not sure if leaves or critters got in there will check it out. Just looking for some advice as this is my first Cadillac experience and pretty excited about getting it and owning it, even if it is 23 years old!

A nearly 24 year old car in storage for 8 years? You're in need if a COMPLETE tune up and then some.

    - Change ALL fluids.
    -Cap, rotor, plugs, wires.
    - All belts and hoses.
    - Tires, regardless if tread left.
    - A thorough inspection of the breaking, steering and suspension systems.

The rust hole, is it in the strut tower?

Show us some pictures . Upload them to www.phoyobucket.com , and post the IMG codes here.

like Moistcabbage - I am concerned with the "rust hole" -

it sounds like you are describing a rusted out strut tower -
if it is - WALK AWAY from the car -

He might mean the wheel wells. I had a 90 once, and saw many in the junkyard. Those things are notorious for rusting out.
