There is an issue with all Devilles when it comes to HIDs - they don't have projector headlights. Installing HIDs will cause glare for other drivers, put less usable light on the road, and is illegal.

IIRC, last gen Devilles use the low beams as DRLs. HIDs can't run on half voltage. DRLs have to be disabled, or some rewiring has to be done.

Unless you want to do a projector conversion, look into PIAA Intense White or Xtreme White bulbs.

if for no other reason -
it causes additional wear and tear on the well-used low beams -
compared to using the seldom-used high beams -

I have HID 8k on my Low Beams and my FOGS on my 03 DTS typically they work fine I think the DRL feature slightly shortens the bulbs life but Other than that its a GREAT
addition. MoistCabbage is right when he says it will cause glare at other drivers but I only get people flashing high beams at me on country roads. People know its you from the other side of the highway ( which is kind of cool when you get a text from someone going other way on I-40. If you cant install it yourself make sure you trust and know whatever aftermarket company you get this installed by, the Ballast and harness can be crowding if not setup neatly, Also if you ever get sick of the HIDs you can
    bypass
the HID ballast and connect your normal halogens. With the ease of getting into the Headlights of the 00-05 Devilles might as well try it.

    REALLY?

so - you KNOW you are blinding on-coming traffic with your blue-bling lights -
    and obviously don't give a damn -

but you also text while driving - YA - REAL COOL -

There are 2 last gen Devilles with HIDs in my city. I'm less than 5 minutes from Boston. NO back roads here. .....It's blinding enough to be distracting, annoying, and dangerous.
