    Best oil drain plug seal?

My '96 DeVille's sump drain plug is leaking badly. Before I drain the oil and replace whatever seal it has, would like to know what has been found to be best part for the job: O-ring, red fiber washer, aluminum washer, metal crush washer?

    -------------------------
the correct drain plug has a rubber seal built in -
no additional seal or gasket should be necessary -

I picked up a replacement at Advance that was of very good quality and stopped my leak.

The Help! racks at parts stores have various sizes of oil drain plug washers - a gray hard silicone type.

Thanks for the tips; don't know if my plug is original or not, but will see what I've got when I pull it out!

Yeah if yours is leaking go hit up a parts store and get a new one. I do believe I have the factory plug and it does not leak. AT ALL.
