    winding noise

I have a 02' Deville DTS and I just recently started hearing a winding noise , I thought it was from my power steering pump which wasn't 100% when I first got the car so I changed that with another one I pulled out the yard from another Deville and still get the same noise ,It wines at idle and even when I accelerate it gets louder ,I was told it could be possibly a bad pulley but now I'm puzzled can anybody help me out ???

Is it a whine, or a hi pitched squeak/squeal?

Get yourself a stethoscope and start listening around.

Then it's probably a pulley bearing. Use the stethoscope or a length of hose to locate which one.
