If you ordered the $15 plenum (Dorman) from RockAuto, it comes with the 8 intake manifold seals. Ask a GM dealer how much they get for ONE !!! You'll choke.

Engine, Intake coupling. Use the little arrows on the expanded picture to scroll right ...........

    Re: 03 DTS, Bad Code

Well guys.. thanks to you and Cabbage... I did it.. I was able to take my manifold off and see that I did have a 3" rip in my plenum. I replaced the TB gasket and the intake gaskets with new ones and just waiting on the new plenum from rockauto.. I used this page on the forum

    http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...ent-steps.html

Guided me step by step.. awesome.. only 1 problem though.. I think it is a huge problem.. when I took the manifold off and looked in the bottom area where was a little bit of oil. The fuel injectors were dirty and the whole area was grimy.. so I really don't know what to make of this.,... is it the head gasket? any ideas on what it could be and I was thinking about changing the fuel injectors with these ones

    http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/more...302&cc=1411793

For $27 a piece.. I think 2 of mine are bad, they were leaking a little at the top part not the bottom O-ring... so ok guys, I have it off and waiting.. so what else can I do to make sure she is right? Should I replace the plugs.. she is an 03 with 59k and has been completely serviced at the local Cadillac dealership where it was bought...

    Thanks..
    Deno

    Re: 03 DTS, Bad Code

Are you talking about the valley or the bottom of the inside of the manifold? Either way, don't worry about it, it's perfectly normal.

If you have a leaking injector or two why not pick up a couple at the Men's Mall. They are pretty reliable so I would have no problem with a used one.

    Re: 03 DTS, Bad Code

yes, Ranger, it was in the bottom of the inside. I did not see where the oil was coming from, but i think it was coming from the front cover.. the one close to the radiator... if you are looking at it.. its the left side between the 1nd and 2nd bolts in there... not really sure... can i spray t/b cleaner in there to clean it out and how can i clean out the manifold openings (not the black intake i took off) but the metal part.....

You can clean the valley, but I wouldn't bother cleaning the ports (openings).

If the injectors are leaking where they meet the rail, just get an O ring set.

I'm still unclear as to whether you are talking about inside the manifold or in the valley as pictured here.
