Hows it going fellas & Ladies....
Loving the cadillac app, about as much as i love my cadillacs, but i could use a little help figuring out a couple problems!
First i have a 1991 Touring Deville 4.9 & I have a code on my comp. display saying service "CCR"????? Any ideas? I dont have the money or time at the moment to get it checked out by a diagnostic...
Another issue im having unfortunately is the Bose Gold series stereo, it turns on fine, but no sound at all... I checked all the relays behing the glove box and their fine! I was told by a friend that he had a similar problem with the cd player bose gold series aswell and it was an internal amp in the stereo! He swithched it out with a bose cassette and never had another issue! Any ideas???

I have a 91 deville touring 4.9 with a service CCR code coming up. Does anybody know what it means? Or how to fix it??? Please help

Start here its out of the FSM get one of these specific CCR codes and I'm sure some one will help you I don't know squat about it, but if you let me know what code I can get you the relevant pages out of the Service Manual

It's a fan of old 70's rock bands featuring John Fogerty?

Hopefully a moderator will move this tomorrow to the correct area to get tech advice.

Computer Command Ride, I believe, so the error has to do with your suspension.

As for the Bose Gold system, I put a 94 head unit in my 92 STS with Bose Gold and enjoyed improved sound. I unfortunately had to give up my tuner since the BG system uses an external tuning module, requiring an antenna extension cord that I never bothered installing.

Not sure if your 91 Deville is the same way as my 92 STS but I imagine the connectors would be the same.

Can't hurt to dig around the junkyard for a replacement. Corvettes, Sevilles, Devilles, and Eldorados used Delco/Bose Gold.

There is no amp in the HU, it's just a tuner/control unit. There are individual amps at each speaker. If all of the speakers stopped working at the same time, the HU is probably the problem.

Re: 1991 touring deville Service Code "CCR"

I have a code on my comp. display saying service "CCR"
that is not a "CODE" - that is simply a DIC MESSAGE -
warning you about a problem with the suspension system -

CODES don't just appear - you must "pull" them -

to check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes -
if you don't know how - go here and read the ENTIRE post -

    http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...odes-dtcs.html

if you have any codes - post them here -
    ALONG WITH THEIR DEFINITIONS -

Re: 1991 touring deville Service Code "CCR"

ANY CCR code in the '91 will mean the struts or front shocks...it just means they are going bad or the electronics are going out.

If they don't bounce or ride funny, then more than likely the salt has been getting to the electrics over the years. You can either ignore the code (if the stuts are fine), or replace the struts.

They DO NOT make CCR shocks anymore, only passive ones. Wire in a resistor (or buy the "bolt in" resistor) to stop the codes from being thrown...

    ------------------------
the resistor "trick" does NOT work on CCR systems -

however - there IS a "trick" using a relay that DOES work -

You're probably right on that one...it's been a few years since I had replaced the front on my Eldorado...

I know when I was putting them in they offered a direct in-line plug in that took the codes out of the equation.
