water pump replaced a month ago now leaking again

03 DTS .. was leaking coolant rapidly a month ago maybe month and a half.. replaced water pump and things seemed fine.. now its begun to leak again slowly having to add coolant once a week. When I check resivor it seems to hold up fine.. but sometimes randomly it says check coolant level and I look and its nearly drained

Where is the leak? The surge tanks are known to crack and seep coolant. Dried Dex leaves a chalky white residue.

Did you do a pressure test on the coolant system. Could be that the relief cap is not holding pressure or you could have a micro crack on the reservoir that looses coolant when it gets hot. That was the case with my 99 STS

Don't throw more parts at it just now.

Go to any auto part store and loan a radiator pressure testing kit for free. It's pretty much just a manual pump and a gauge that you screw on top of the surge tank (instead of the surge tank cap). This tool lets you monitor the cooling system integrity under fully pressurized conditions, a.k.a. running engine. Consequently you can also spot leaks that are dormant when the car is parked.

Simply pump the system to a pressure of 18 PSI with the provided manual pump of the tool and observe whether it's preserving that exact pressure for an extended period of time. If it isn't, you *see* the coolant dripping from somewhere and can diagnose the exact leak without being subjected to hot liquid or a running engine.

The whole process is super simple (even I was able to do it), very quick, and yields immediate results. The best part is that you can return the tool afterwards and get your full deposit back. Disclaimer: don't release your surge tank cap when the coolant is hot!

EDIT: For complete confidence of mind and since you are at the parts store anyway, you could also borrow a block tester (for free) and some of its liquid (around $8). This is an equally simple setup to check for exhaust gasses in the coolant as a definitive indicator for a head gasket failure. It attaches to the surge tank just as the pressure tester after you have diagnosed your potential leak. As I said, it's one trip to the parts store and an investment of $8.

Im still gonna do what you said when I have a day off c_d but I took it to dealer and they claim it was probably air pockets finally getting out from when replaced water pump.. I dont believe this because I replaced water pump over a month ago and already brought it back day after back then because of "air" and it was fine ever since until now

You paid 1100 for a radiator? Was it gold plated?

For that kind of money it should have included dinner and a kiss.

Doesnt seem like a job I could do perfectly on my own first time ( not something I would want to trail and error on like the windows)

For a couple hundred dollar radiator I'd dork it up a few times before I paid that much, not really difficult to do.
