2000 DeVille; Any way to reduce body roll or stiffen up suspension?

It there any way to stiffen up the suspension or reduce body roll in a 2000 DeVille? Just looking for a less floaty ride. I have replaced the struts and shocks with Monros but that it is still floaty. It handles like a jelly donut. Are there any options to increase the handling performance of this car? Thanks for the time and have a great day everyone!

You could install '00-'05 DTS springs and sway bars. The shocks won't work because they're active, and your car doesn't have the electronics to support that feature.

    you are driving a Cadillac Deville - not a go-cart -
they are supposed to "float" down the road -

    but like MoistCabbage said -
you could stiffen it up by replacing the front and rear springs - and sway bars -
with the FE3 units from the 2000 to 2005 Deville DTS -

replacing the springs is easy -
replacing the sway bars is gonna be a bitch -

here are the part numbers for the springs -
    Deville DTS coil springs -
    dealer only -
    front - 22197592 -
    rear 25670966 -

Depending on condition changing out the sway bar bushings and end-links should help some.

Sounds like you might be happier with a DTS.

I absolutely would but I inherited this base DeVille from my Dad and I really like not having any payments. LOL!

Roger that. Turning a base Deville into a DTS (ride wise) is going to get expensive and labor intensive.

The springs and sway bars seem to be the way to go. Does anyone have any ideas on pricing for the springs and sway bars?

like I said - replacing the springs is cheap and easy -

the sway bar parts aren't all that expensive either -
but LABOR is going to be STAGGERINGLY EXPENSIVE -

and keep in mind - it is still NOT going to handle like a go-kart -
it WILL ride harder - and MIGHT handle a little tiny bit better -

you will NOT be happy with the results - compared to the cost -

Get the fatter DTS sway bars from a junk yard and replace the black rubber end links with the orange or red urethane ones. The sway bars flatten out the cornering and the ride will be the same. The bars are the cheapest way to improve the handling. When I had my rear wheel drive 84 sedan, I used the bars off a Police car Caprice. Made a world of difference and still had the Cadillac ride.

Is there a write up anywhere for the sway bar install? What exactly makes it so labor intensive?

I did the same on my 95 Fleetwood! I installed the 9C1 (police Caprice) springs and sway bars along with HD Bilstien shocks all around. That car was so much fun. I miss it so much!

I doubt it, but if there is it will be in the Tech Tips section.

    drop the exhaust -
drop the rear suspension cradle -

    -------------------
    and for the front -
    lower the engine cradle -

I kind of feel the same way about my Deville. I've been told spring stiffeners might help, but then I was told spring stiffeners are damaging. I guess I just need to adapt. Let me know if anything works for you!
