    Caddy Dead - Electrical?

Our 1999 Cadillac DeVille is completely dead except for the battery. Battery reads completely charged. Inside lights, brake lights, trunk motor - anything electrical is dead. Any thoughts of where to start looking for problem?

Welcome to the forums! This is the lounge, which is reserved for casual conversations and chit chat. You are going to have more success in obtaining an answer to your query by posting it in the appropriate forum above: "Cadillac DeVille 1985 to 2005 including:
1985-1992 Fleetwood, 1993 Sixty Special, All FWD Forum"

I'd caution you from double posting the same question though, as the moderators here run a tight ship and do not tolerate spamming the boards or duplicate posts. (More than likely, they will lock this one and move it to the DeVille forum above.). No worries. Just trying to help you out and get the lay of the land. Best of success in getting your issue resolved!

    ----------

If everything is dead, it has to be something very basic. Start with the battery cables. Are the connections clean and tight?

If the cables are good start checking maxi fuses under the hood.
More information needed also, is it everything or just what you listed?

    Re: Caddy Dead - Electrical?

Sorry for posting in the wrong place. My husband removed a device on the battery that a dealer had installed, and everything started working immediately. Figures! Thanks for your responses. Sorry for bothering you.

Sounds like a cutoff they install at some dealers, no pay no go. Usually they are hidden under dash though.
