    Got my "winter beater"

We picked up my winter car today so I can store the DeVille in the winter. It's a beat up 90 Fleetwood, navy blue. It can serve as a parts car later on down the road for the DeVille. No pics yet as it has been pouring rain and I'm exhausted from a Reverend Horton Heat concert in Cleveland last night. The car might have to be called The Rev just for that!

    Re: Got my "winter beater"

I would think that, up by The Lake, a 'winter beater' would have 22" tires, 4WD, and running boards .................. (plus 2 can coozies and one hell of a heater).

    Re: Got my "winter beater"

My '89 is in too good a shape to drive in the winter. It's BEAUTIFUL near perfect condition (Minus a couple bumps and scrapes). The Fleetwood has a heater that works. I haven't even been in it to see if it has cup holders, but if it doesn't, I'll duct tape some coozies in it. 4WD is for sissies. If you know how to drive in the snow, you don't need it. AND if you don't know how to drive in the snow, stay home. Unless you live in the country where they don't regularly plow.

Yep that's a beater alright, looks pretty good except for the big wack in the back.

    Re: Got my "winter beater"

We put spring stiffeners in it to keep it from rubbing on the tire until we can get it fixed. There is a bumper sticker on the back that says "If you are going to ride my ass, at least pull my hair". This is funny for two reasons, one is that it has clearly been rammed in the ass. Two is that my BF has been driving it to work. He has a pompadour, is middle aged, and a little overweight. So, that's a great visual.

My new winter beater is deep in the background, a Buick Century my aunt previously owned. She only drove it 32,000 miles in the 9 years she owned it.
Now I can put all the good stuff into the garage when winter arrives here in Massachusetts.
