Need help identifying a connector for a 97 Deville Concours. In the engine bay.

As seen in this picture what is the blue shrouded connector for.
There is two exiting the loom at about the same spot. One is connected to a plug in the cylinder head but I do not know where this one goes. I may be tearing this thing apart again as I cannot seem to isolate where this one connects to.

I am on the cusp of completely finishing a water pump crossover gasket replacement and now this. I suspected it attached to the intake manifold or throttle budy but I cannot find a receptacle for it.

Its hot here and my brain is heat addled any help is always appreciated.

Can you open the picture up a bit? What's it connected to on the right side?

Its just hanging loose. It is not currently connected to anything.
Its such a bugger to see into that part of the engine bay. I cannot recall seeing any connector receptacle other than those for the block heater and another one in the rear bank cylinder head.

OK, now I see. I thought it was plugged into the gray tube or cable at the far right. I checked my '03, but didn't see any connector that color though I wasn't really sure where I was looking from such a close up. Maybe someone with a '97 will have better luck.

I think if your TPS was disconnected you'd know it.

    Have you checked the DTC's?

Re: Need help identifying a connector for a 97 Deville Concours. In the engine bay.

I checked the codes and there is a lot of them due mostly I think due to all the sensors being disconnected around the intake manifold.

I removed my linkage and the gear position switch in order to feel about in the area behind the and around the steering input shaft. ANd nothing can be felt moreover I should have had to unhook this connector pro-actively as I doubt I could have pulled the thing off without really trying to.

    Current codes are:
    PCM
    0204
    0205
    0206
    0207
    0208

    0405
    1122

    ACM
    B1749

    TCS
    C1241
    1738

I am feeling ill over this. I found some pics from http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...e-leak-33.html

The best I have found from this rebuild thread is:

    IM000039a.jpg

And it looks as though the connector the the input shaft for the steering but I cannot feel and certainly cannot locate the receptacle.

    Golly gee gosh!
    I found the receptacle
    It is for the steering
I can barely touch it from the top side of the car. I think this needs the motor dropped good heavens what a day.
I can touch it and I can snake the connector up to it but I need to push both bits together and cannot think of a way to do this. I was thinking maybe if I lassoed the receptacle in some way I could maybe pull on it while pushing the connector in.

    ----------

OK the lasso thing works sort of OK for the receptacle side but I cannot reach in far enough to finish the deed with the connector.
A hot glue gun and a long stick maybe?

Well homo habilis lives and breathes! I used a lassos to capture the receptacle then managed to force one arm to reach it
I then used a fork I made from a copper pipe to deliver the connector home.

I had to cut off the clip unfortunately it was the only way as my lasso was in the way.

It buttoned back up to the intake manifold now. I need to buy some hose clamps and then I should be able to start the old girl after two years sitting.

If nothing she will make a fitting end in a demolition derby hammering lesser cars into oblivion.
