I need help is identifying a wire coming out of my wiring harness

The grey wire is a cause for concern as I had to snip it off its mounting lug.
I had to do so in order to get access to the lower water pump crossover bolts.

Why would you need help? You cut the wire, so now you need to repair it.

    I was thinking the same.

Did you lose the other end of it?

northstar 006.JPGThe other end was attached to the rear of the engine via a rusted on bolt. I could not remove the bolt yet absolutely needed the wire removed to bolt on my water pump crossover. If it is a ground I should be able to get away with relocating it as its original position is basically impossible to use.
I just wanted to know if it was a "special" connection point. There is another bolt on the same location farther back toward the firewall I will try a lug and see if it can be reached and used. A better pic of where it goes is here.
