    Everything is fixed on the car except;

    The drivers seat.
    Apparently an obese person owned this car and the padding/springs have collapsed and the vinyl right above the seat heat control is torn. Would love to find a "lightly used" seat but may be tough to find a 97 Deville (green) drivers seat.
    Oh, the seat heater isn't working either.seat 001compressed.jpg

    Junkyardin' time. I'd imagine you'd be able to find that plastic piece in decent condition. For the non-functioning seat heater, check the CONV (I THINK, check the owner's manual/ FSM for diagram) fuses and then the wiring under the seat. If all checks out there, time for a jyard seat heater.

    It looks bad because the clip is not on the back of that side panel anymore, take the screws out frt and back and you'll see a spring clip about have way sticking out of seat frame. Slide back into plastic panel and snap back into seat. it will cover the edge of leather then. Have you tested the switch for heat seat?

    Oh man, go hit a few junk yards. You'll eventually find a perfect replacement part.

    I bought my '03 DeVille about 18 months ago. It had a loose knuckle joint in the steering column, which I could have repaired by taking the column out (and apart). The part alone would have cost ~$300. But I really wanted a telescoping steering column (which my car did NOT have). So I shopped around at a couple of junk yards and quickly found a like-new telescoping steering column from '04 DeVille. So, I fixed my steering column AND got the telescoping option too, all for ~$100!!! Gotta love a good junk yard find.

    So start making a few phone calls. Good luck.

    Have not tested the switch, low priority @ 90*F
    Seat is all the way back and won't go forward, feels like the motor is trying to move it but the seat is stuck somehow. Gonna be a pain to get to those back torx bolts!!
    Took the side garnish trim screws out, I see where the clip goes but it's AWOL. Two 97 and three 98 Devilles at my local Pull-A-Part. Gonna take a morning off soon and go grab some parts!
