03 Deville passenger pre-sets acting funky.

Is it common for these cars (DHS/similar) to start acting up in terms of all the electronic presets for seat/steering position, stereo settings, mirror position, etc?

I've noticed that when I hit the keyfab to open the door, it readjusts everything to *almost* what it's supposed to. It really seems like it does a half-n-half of what it was previously set at, and what my presets are.

Meaning, no matter how much I re-do the preset, it will never actually set the seats and steering (the main culprits) just to where I want them. I don't really care to fix it unless it's a simple "change this fuse", but I am curious about this. Normally, electronics are "go/no-go" instead of mashing up the data into seemingly random stuff.

    Yes.

My ABS is out, so there's a few codes for that. My intake has a leak (parts coming) so I have a few "lean" codes. The only two codes I had that I didn't understand were AMP U1064, and IRC U1016. Losing communications with something, but I can't make out what it really means. These are "history" and not current codes.

If something touches a control while it's doing the auto move to position, all motors will stop (including ones that wouldn't be affected by your control input.) Maybe something is brushing a switch?

Another interesting thing it does. Sometimes my wife uses her keyfab to open the door and get the kids strapped in their seats, and start the car. Thus, the presets are all hers.

I will hit the "2" (my number) on the door side, and it adjusts everything, but the steering wheel and seat tend to do only about 2/3 or so of the movement. If I hit it again, everything moves "a little closer"
but still not the right spot.

It does NOT seem to worsen over time, so I'll consider this a "rich person problem" (despite being well below the median household income for our area lol) and just consider it an interesting inconvenience.

I had a very similar problem with my car when I got it but mine remembered the exact position that I set. Sometime I had to hold the number for everything to set and sometimes and had to push it a couple of times. After I replaced the battery it all work fine again.

Are you holding the button down until the motion completes? The motion will stop if you're in drive and pressing the button if you release it before the motion is complete. (It should run to completiong without holding if the car is in park/noone in the seat... (I'm not sure of the exact conditions.))
