Thread: Coolant Steam coming thru AC dash vent

    Coolant Steam coming thru AC dash vent

    Was driving and engine hot came on the IC

    Then steam jus blast thru the vents

    Put more coolant but it seems to jus disappear

    What do I do???

    Never heard coolant coming thru the AC vents when the HG go

    Are u sure its not some hose I gotta get to behind the dash or in the engine???

    YEP - like MC said -
    you blew the heater core -

    since you are in Florida - I doubt you need heat -

    what I would do if I were you -
    bypass the heater core - and forget about it - for a while at least -

    to bypass the heater core -
    locate the 2 heater hoses going through the firewall -

    pull the hoses off the pipes of the heater core -

    join the 2 heater hoses together -

    ------------------
    to join the heater hoses -
    you could get one of the old style "flushing "T" kits -

    CORRECT - about the size of regular garden hose -

    should have clamps on the ends -

    release the clamps - and twist the hoses -

    usually you must be very careful removing the hoses -
    so you don't damage the heater core -
    that just doesn't matter in your case -

    in fact - if the hoses are too tough to get off -
    you could just cut them off - what's the difference -

    you just need to join the two hoses together -
