    1999 de Ville rear shock switch

    Hello Gentlemen;

    I am preparing now to travel to Oregon to pick up the 99 de Ville I left there after my last USA vacation. I would like to change the rear shocks to manual air lift ones as the mechanism auto leveling on mine does not work well.

    I have a friend with a garage and good skills and tools, but wonder if anyone has changed rear shocks on this car at home?

    I must order the replacements before I arrive at his house, so any advice as to whether this is a skilled handyman job(that's US) would be welcome.

    I suspect with the rear wheels off and a good jack it should not be too hard, but am I correct?

    Not a hard job at all. Mine are just slightly different, but I did it in my garage in about :30 min.

    The top nut needs to be removed while the rod on top is locked with a (I believe) T50 torx bit. That's basically the "special" procedure. Everything else is pretty straight forward.
