    Shifter wont come out of park, 2000 DTS

    hi, i own a 2000 cadillac deville dts and the shifter gets stuck in park constantly
    i have to open the middle console and push the pin in the way inwards.

    anyone know how to corresctly fix this issue?
    by me manualy getting the car outta park, will that damage anything else?

    also the plastic assembly that links to the shift lock release in outa place and possibly broken

    Sounds like shift linkage/cable replacement time.

    Again, look at www.alldatadiy.com for instant gratification or find a real GM/Helm service manual set on eBay or www.helminc.com

    Maybe a bad shift interlock solenoid? Have you checked the DTC's?
