Why you should not use ScotckLoks on your wires
For any of you newb's that are considering using scotchloks, please do not.
I found this on an aftermarket sunroof my 97 DeVille has, both wires were sctotchlok'd onto harness on drivers kick panel.
The main power wire is about half cut due to one of these.
So when people tell you not to use them this is one of the reasons. The capacity of this wire was reduced by 30% from being cut.
Solder or a butt connector is way better than using these. If it was a speaker wire fine... Can't tell you how many of these have caused me ulcers from fixing wiring on trailers and other vehicles. Used exterior on vehicle and it's not a matter of if they will fail but when.
