Replacing my Idle Air Control Valve

    Hello,

I need to replace my IACV, but the part is very expensive; is there any downside to buying the part online such as this one:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/AC272-SMP-GM...032324&vxp=mtr

You could probably get it even cheaper at a salvage yard.

That is true, but is this part online comparable to buying it at the auto parts store?

If it's an AC Delco part, it doesn't matter where you buy it. I wouldn't recommend another brand for an IAC valve. You're better off buying a used AC Delco part.

You never said, so I gotta ask, why are you replacing it? Generally speaking, they are pretty reliable.

    ----------------------------------------
the part you linked to is NOT an ACDelco brand part -
it is manufactured by Standard - an aftermarket part -

personally - because they ARE so reliable -
I would rather have a used genuine ACDelco part than a Standard -

    like Ranger asked -
    WHY are you replacing it?
and WHO said you needed to replace it?
