    99 Deville will not start

My 99 Deville had been sitting for over a month and when I went to start it it just turned over and never fired up. The shifter position is blinking, the THEFT SYSTEM PROBLEM-CAR MAY NOT RESTART and SERVICE AIR BAG messages are there. I by-passed the theft system years ago with a resistor in line and have never had a air bag used. Here is the list of codes:

B1159-LOSS OF SERIAL DATA-KEY NOT RECEIVED
B1160-LOSS OF SERIAL DATA-VIN NOT RECEIVED
B1163-LOSS OF SERIAL DATA-NO LAMP RESPONSE
    B2750-PASSKEY DATA COMMUNICATIONS FAILURE
    U1096-LOSS OF COMMUNICATION WITH IPC
    U1255-SERIAL DATA LINE MALFUNCTION
    U1300-CLASS 2 SHORT TO GROUND

    Any help would be appreciated!

The first step would be to have the battery charged and load tested. Replace if necessary, and go from there.

With those codes and a theft system bypass, anything is possible.

Not saying it is not possible, but if it where a battery problem I would have expected to see a low voltage code.

I did not record history or current. I will check tomorrow. It turns over like the battery is OK but I will charge it and see what happens.

I charged and load tested the battery and it tested good. The codes are now too numourus to recrd, Some of them are not normal that I have ever seen. Like, PO12==, PO=2== ans so on. The other flashing messages are still there. It still spins over but doesn't start.

Re: 99 Deville will not start

Sometimes pulling battery power will add codes. When I had my battery replaced under warranty it had a slew of codes when I got it back.

    Have you verified fuel pressure?

Re: 99 Deville will not start

The pressure was 24 when I turned the key on and went up to 45 when I cranked it over. The pressure held after I shut the key off.

Re: 99 Deville will not start

24 is WAAAY too low. 45 is normal, but the fact that it increased and stayed there leads me to believe the fuel pump is not the problem.

Re: 99 Deville will not start

Certainly appears to be some sort of communications problem. Weak battery, bad ground, short circuit, bad PCM, etc, etc. Looks like it's gonna be a tough one to nail down.

My car will not start either, it keeps reading "Starting Disabled Due To Theft System" and then goes "Car May Not Restart" in the MSG center. I need help. Also, the Security is not flashing as it reads that.
