    2001 Deville Amplifier backseat removal

Hello people I'm having trouble removing the back seat, the reason that i want to remove it is because i believe my amplifier is bad or some connections are loose, I've read that you need to remove the back seat to get to it, when ever i try to put a fuse in the amp fuse location it always blows it right away, so im thinking there is some bad wire ring ? I've read alot of threads regarding this but I can't figuere out how to remove the two bolts holding the back of the rear seats. Im using a size 18 ratchet nut, but I can't get it out, its stuck in there, what tools do you guys use to remove your back seats? And any advise regarding the amp?

Any Help is appreciated thank you.

    Chris.

You have to take the torque bolts out of the seat buckle and at the top of the seat if you pull it out there are four clips you need to push down and pull the seat out. But If I am not mistaken I can get to my amplifier through the truck In my 2002 deville its on the driver side, you have to pull the cover to the side.

You have been reading some very bad sources of location information.

Your amplifier is mounted on the TRUNK side of the structural member that separates the passenger compartment from the trunk.

Accessible from the TRUNK after you remove some carpeting.
