Looking at buying a 2005 Deville

Vehicle has a salvage title due to weather not structural. Just under 114k.
Drives out nice, engine compartment looks oil free. Breaks feel soft. Body & interior are in really good condition.
Anything else I should look for? Any links for reading up on this year vehicle?

    Thanks in advance

the only weather that could total a car is either hail - or flood -

hail damage is fine - it only makes the car ugly -

flood - or water damage - WILL haunt you FOREVER -
    RUN away -

Think about it. There's a reason the car is for sale, and it certainly isn't because the title has the word salvage printed on it.

Lots of these "what to look for on a used car" threads here, you could probably find several with the search feature.

"Common" issues? Faulty window regulators, oil leaks, TCC problems, faulty rear blend door...

Have you found the "sticky" thread on how to pull codes at the top of the FWD Deville/Fleetwood page?

OK - then lets just put it this way -

the ONLY thing you DON'T have to worry about -
compared to the 2000 through 2004 Deville -
    is head gaskets -

Wow is it like that? The only thing other then the breaks that I noticed was the rear window wouldn't work from the drivers door. Of course I didn't get underneath the vehicle, cause I just would of gotten dirty & would have no clue as to what I was even looking at!

    salvage title 2005 Deville
What price do they have on it?
    Underneath you are looking for:
    Rust
Obvious things hanging or torn loose
    fluid leaks
general condition of frame and floor pans - you would not believe the stuff some people run over. Shop lift damage. careless transport and wrecker drivers.
