Tell us what F15 & F32 mean and we may be able to help. No one has the codes memorized. I suspect you are low on refrigerant.

Re: 89 Cadillac Deville A/C problems

F15 (Sunload temperature sensor or circuit fault) & F32 (Electronic Control Module-ECM to Body Control Module-BCM fault - loss of communication. Just had the system changed over from R-12 to R-134 (NO LEAKS & FULL) by GM certified Tech. The car has held these same codes F15 & F32 since 10-1-2012. Have tried clearing codes numerous times by using the climate control panel but return during the next ignition of engine. The fuel data center panel seems to read 0 at all times of car operation. Is it possible that it's linked to the codes F15 & F32 ? Thank you for any help.

Re: 89 Cadillac Deville A/C problems

The fuel data center may be related to the BCM fault.

I don't recall the '89's having a sun load sensor, but I could well be wrong.

They sure did. Not sure how far it goes back, but all of my '80's FWD's had one. I would think it's necessary on any car with electronic climate control - else it wouldn't function very efficiently.

IIRC, the first sun load sensor in a Cadillac was in the '85 Deville.

Re: 89 Cadillac Deville A/C problems

I've located the outside temp sensor & in-car temp sensor but not the sunload temp sensor which I read tells the A/C compressor to engage or disengage. I asked Cadillac dealership parts dept. about sunload sensor & they sold me the outside temp sensor. Please help if possible.

The sun load sensor DOES NOT trigger the A/C compressor, it effects HVAC airflow and fan speed.

The sensor is on top of the dash pad/defroster grille. It looks like a small, smoked plastic dome.

Re: 89 Cadillac Deville A/C problems

Cadillac has had electronic climate control since at least 1971. That's the earliest I remember, but probably earlier than that and I can assure you that there was no such thing as a sun load sensor in those cars (and they functioned quite well). I will admit that I do not remember when I first saw it though. I think it may have been in my '92. Don't remember one in my '81, '83 or '85 Eldo, but wouldn't swear to that.

Like MC said, the sun load sensor has absolutely nothing to do with engaging or disengaging the compressor.

What would be the reason for F 15 code - (Sunload temperature sensor or circuit fault)?

    ----------

I'm not having problems with blower/fan speeds they work fine. I removed the defroster grille & dash pad with no luck locating plastic dome.

A015 is the sun load sensor code. Are you sure you're getting an F code?

100% - first F15 then F32 then F.F15 then F.F32 then clear the codes then 0.0 then 7.0 then select auto & key off.

Both terminals of the sun load sensor connect to the BCM. I'd concentrate on getting your display to working first and then the AC. Both of those codes relate to the BCM. I'd swap out the BCM next. BCM's have been known to cause all kinds of eratic behavior.

Re: 89 Cadillac Deville A/C problems

The climate control panel display works fine. Its the fuel data center panel that reads 0. Which I did switch the BCM out and all panels read out some language not from this world so returned the old BCM & clean prom terminals. Company tried to stick me with a no return on electronics. Just trying to find this sunload sensor that's giving a code F15 (Sunload temperature sensor or circuit fault). Please help locate.
