    upper radiator hoses

Iam thinking about putting a KN cone, yes cone, filter on my 4.5. Iam putting the batt in the trunk when i get an amp and iam gona put the cone where the batt was and make an aluminum box for it. But once i take out the factory air box and try to put a pipe from the engine to the cone the upper hose gets in the way. And it gets hot and i dont want it resting on my intake pipe. So is there any bad things about putting a shorter more direct hose in place?

Heres a crappy pic of what i mean. Red is the hose, white is the intake pipe.

Just be careful about causing an air pocket.
