    Question Air conditioning?

So I got a 98 deville concours and it's been 95 degrees here for the past few days so obviously I've been blast the ac. But it doesn't seem to be cold enough. Specially for a caddy. Haha it's coming out at 50 degrees. My friends civic blows at 38. And my blazer blows out at 34. Is it normal that the air in this things 50?... I checked the freon and at idle it's 42 psi on the low side. And the high side is about 220. At about 2000 rpm's the low side goes down to 39-38 and the high climbs to 270 maybe even higher. Could this be a bad compressor or orifice tube? Or is this just normal?...

    Thanks, Ryan

Your pressures are pretty close to normal. 34-38 degree duct temperature is fanominal. I'm no expert, but I'd guess that is the exception rather than the rule. Funny you asked this because out of curiosity I just checked mine today. It was 80 degrees and EXTREMELY humid and I was getting 45 degree center duct temperature. I was happy with that. If you have an IR thermometer, check the evaporator inlet and outlet pipes at the firewall. They should be the same temperature.

Thanks. Ill have to check that. But it dropped to 80 and it was coming out at about 40-45 so I guess it's just too hot up here... Haha

A 45 degree drop (95 > 50) is nothing to complain about. Sounds to me like your A/C is operating just fine.
