    Hard Shift

I have noticed that at times my car shifts fairly hard at times. Not slamming into gear or anything, but hard enough to bobble my head a bit. Probably about 2/3 of the time.
I have no active PCM codes.
Where would be the first place to check?

I've had that same problem in my 05 Deville. No codes either but was told engine mounts might be the cause of my problem by a couple of mechanics. Its a start.

That's a tough one with no codes.
I don't know about the mount thing.
Is it just the 1-2 & does it feel like a slide-bump? Possibly bad 2nd clutch.
Or, could be a sticky pressure solenoid. If it's not electrically bad, it won't throw a code or put into limp.

It seems to happen only when increasing from a lower speed. So maybe when engaging 2nd. When it acts up, there is a slight pause and it drops in gear with a small jerk.

    Re: Hard Shift

That slight pause(slide) & small jerk(bump) may be an indication of a worn 2nd clutch pack or leaking internal seals.
