    97 deville codes

    hey guys...I finally was able to retrieve the codes off of the 97 deville after my instrument cluster swap from a 96 deville, yes it does work...the codes I got was p0205,p1645...can sumone explai. these for me and any ideas

    Use the link in the DTC sticky to find the code definition. If you still need help, post the definitions along with the codes. No one has them memorized.

    P1645 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Vent Solenoid Control Circuit

    P0205 - Listen that injector with a stethoscope. Do you hear a rhythmic ticking of the injector pulsing like all the others? You should. If not, it's probably a bad injector.

    P1645 - Sounds like a failed EVAP vent solenoid.

    thans ranger ill check that injector out today... do u know where I can find one of those solenoid

    P0300 is a generic misfire code -
    our on-board code readers will not display WHICH cylinder/cylinders is/are misfiring -
    only that there IS a misfire -

    take the car to any large auto parts store - they will check your codes for free -

    P0301 is a misfire in cylinder #1 - P0302 is cylinder #2 - P0303 is #3 - etc -

    once you discover WHICH cylinder is misfiring - diagnosis becomes much easier -

    ok ill do that asap...and do u know where I can get a picture of A EVAP solenoid so I know wat part to replace so I can clear that p1645 code

    Rockauto. It's under "Emissions" > "Vapor Canister Purge Valve".

    ok thanks..i fixed the p0205 wire wasn't even connected smh....but now I got the p0300 got to find out which one is misfiring...fix one thing for another thing t pop up oh well keeps me busy lol
