    Angry 2000 Deville idle issue

I am working on a 2000 cadillac deville,

Problem is that the car will not idle correctly. When tryn to start it will fire up then emediatly die unless I start to feather the throttle. then after a few seconds of this it will suddenly jump to 25-2600 RPM and hold there. sometimes it will come back down and fluctuate between 1800-2500rpms. Anytime I try to give it any throttle the car bogs down really bad.

So far I have changed thies sensors
    TPS
    Crankshaft sensor (both)
    Camshaft position sensor
    MAP sensor.
The rubber boot between manifold and TB.
    fresh air filter
    new oil change.

I am at a loss at this point and am tired of throwing money at it.
I do not have a FSM as this is a side job car and dont actually own it.
Keep thinking vacuum leak but can find one. I have sprayed carb cleaner under the manifold and car boggs down more.

can someone with more caddy knowlege please help me out.

    Thanks in advance

    Have you cleaned the TB?

I have sprayed carb cleaner under the manifold and car boggs down more.
How do you spray "under" the manifold?

    Re: 2000 Deville idle issue

looks like the two codes are saying MAF meter issue

also the TB look super clean when i looked inside the front and the back

I sprayed carb cleaner towards the bottom of the rubber boot on intake. Pretty sure it went into what ever the large spring on the bottom of intake manifold is.

CODE DEFINITIONS.... These things, from the link that was posted for you:

P0101 Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Performance

P0102 Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Circuit Low Frequency

P0121 TP Sensor Circuit Insufficient Activity

Dirty or failing MAF, and failing TPS, assuming no wiring/connector problems.

The spring is part of the overpressurization valve. Is it visible and sucking in air?

Large spring on the bottom of intake manifold? The over pressurization valve (on the bottom between the two Torx head screws)? If that is stuck open it is a big vacuum leak.

    Re: 2000 Deville idle issue

Obviously it is stuck open from a previous backfire aka manifold over pressurization. I'd remove it and see if it can be reset. If not, replace it.

OK looks like someone else has been in to motor before me. The over pressure valve was put back in upside down. Cap with o ring was on top of the spring instead of bottom against st the manifold...lol

A little exploratory surgery goes a long way. Sometimes the things you find are truly amazing. Gotta wonder what else they touched.
