I use the toll-free roadways (when possible) and the bridge tolls are about 50/50- NY/NJ.
Where were you comin' from?
They raped me on the trailer. $7 for a car but $23 with an EMPTY 2 axle trailer. 2 tolls were over $20 (x2, so over $80 just with these 2 tolls both ways plus all the other tolls).
And not just the tolls. The roads sucks. The scenery sucks. The housing sucks. I saw nothing I would ever want to live with in NJ.
Sorry - forgot about this thread... Meet, the money pit!
"Sorry honey, I can't go with you. I'm workin' on the Chevy." :( :halo:
That outta keep you out of trouble for a few years.
This is a 66 SS Impala, 327/Powerglide, factory A/C and Power Windows. Body is in really decent shape. Mechanics are a total mess. Interior needs a total restoration. Engine will be replaced with a 350 crate motor and 700R4 transmission.
IMO, if it is a real SS with original motor/trans, building the 327/Powerglide would be the way to go.
I had a 65 ss in high school. 396/pg. buddy has a 66 with 396/400. Yes I thought it was cool than and still do. Kids today drive Hondas. Haha
Forgive them, for they know not what they do. They never knew a cool car.Quote:

I have the original 327 but it is not in the car. It consists of a block without mains, a crankshaft, camshaft and fuelie heads. The car has a 283 in it currently. I am not really too concerned about originality in this car. It isn't a Chevelle and I don't think it will ever have a concourse restoration where #'s matching will matter. And it is a 327/Powerglide drivetrain - a mediocre combination at best (actually right in the middle of what was available). I'd rather go with simplicity and reliability. You can't beat a crate motor and 700r4 for that! And the combo is only around $2k to boot. Plus another $G or 2 for engine accessories.
So now the real question; Should I sell the Caddy? I have a 3 car garage and 4 cars. I hate having a car in the driveway. The biggest reason for me to keep the Caddy is to keep the miles down on the Daytona and for winter driving. I think I might could get $2k for the Caddy perhaps a few dollars more. It is really going to be bad come winter and my daily driver (the Caddy) has to sit in the driveway. No chance in hell the Charger is sitting in the elements and I can't let the Impala sit out as it has no plates and in MD they could tow it for that. And of course my wife's car gets a garage space too. If I sell the Caddy the Daytona becomes the daily driver.
Slip, is that the sellers house in pic or your house?
