    a/c light

    I have a 1992 deville and my service a/c light comes on now when I start the car.it goes away a few mins after its started. it just startd recently.I checkd the codes and nothing comes up.if anyone can help please let me know.thank you for your time.

    I'd get a set of gauges on it and see what the pressures are. Might need a little refrigerant.

    You can probably borrow a set of A/C gauges from AutoZone and you can get refrigerant (R134a) there as well (DO NOT get the stuff with a sealer in it ). That said, if you do not know what you're doing or looking for, you might want to take it to an A/C shop. Also, your car came with R12, so unless it was converted you will have to take it to a shop as you can no longer buy R12 on the open market.

    If your Service A/C light is comming on then your computer will store a code even if the error clears. It will be a history code. Are you using a code reader or are you using the procedure in the above sticky to check the codes?

    Im using the sticky.its when I hold the off and warmer buttons.but ill try again.ill take it to autozone tomorrow and see if I can use there gages

    First remove one of the service port caps. If it is threaded externally like a tire valve, forget it, it's still R12. AZ may not even have the R12 gauges anymore. If it is a quick disconnect, then it has been converted.
