    1993 deville part question

Hi, this is a pretty amateur question, but could someone tell me the name of this part? It broke off of my 93 sedan Deville and I have not been able to find it online. These are not the best pictures but it is the lower part of the rear passenger side door. Also, can I reattach the part myself or will I have to have a shop do it?

    Thanks

#24 is what you're after it sounds like

it's called the rear door lower molding (or similar)

the clips marked H/#36 are what commonly will cause it to fall off and if you haven't lost the molding itself you can just replace the clips

if you do need the molding sit down .......... it lists for over $400

i can sell you one at a discount but it will still need to get painted to match you body color and installed

    ...

if i was you i would start talking to bodyshops and see who's got a good labor rate and experienced techs that won't make matters worse for you

Yes that is what I need. I might be interested in buying it from you depending on the price. Can you message me with the details?

Chris, that picture doesn't look right for some reason. I don't see the chrome trim pieces and hardware that holds the wide piece of chrome.

    Re: 1993 deville part question

the chrome is part of #24 and isn't sold separately (as far as I know)

those molding panels don't break down into parts

It's the door molding or door trim. Get the part from a wrecker. If it's still available new the price will be high.
The chrome is all part of the panel it's not made to come apart.

No, you can take the chrome off. I know, I took mine off last year and repainted them.

It does come apart, but it's sold together.

    Re: 1993 deville part question

If I do get the part off a used car, will I also be able to take off the clips that hold it without breaking them? or is there somewhere I could buy them?

Can we still buy the clips that hold that chrome piece on #24?

Dennis, were you able to save your clips that hold the chrome piece on #24?

    Re: 1993 deville part question

Yes I was, but they are extremely fragile. The clips are made of plastic and have a thin strand that acts as a spring and always breaks. A parts guy at the dealer might be able to match them or you might be able to find some aftermarket. Do a search.

Yes, 50% of mine break. Luckily I have some spares. I'll look for some aftermarket ones. Thanks.
