camshaft position (CMP) sensor E041 error code + E047

I am trying to find out where I can buy CMP for 1991 deville 4.9.?
Can this cause the transmission to seem to slip at 45 mph sometimes, or is this related to a torque converter issue?

Shouldn't 't be hard to find in stores or online, but it may be listed as a Hall effect switch.

No, it will not cause any transmission related problems.

Is the transmission "slipping"? Or does it feel like it's shifting back and forth?

Have you pulled codes? You might check all of your fuses while you are at it, especially on inside of car on passenger side. Take the hush panel off and you will see the fuse block near the rh kick panel.

Re: camshaft position (CMP) sensor E041 error code

The car drives well but when it gets to 45 mph about 80% of the time the car stops driving/pulling/going forward and I have to wait unti the speedometer fals below 40 before I can start going forward again. This happen most but not all the time.

    ----------

I pulled codes tyesterday and got a e047 BCM? The E041 did not come back as of today.

Title says E047. Text says E041. Which is it and what do those codes mean?

Does the engine RPM increase without an increase in speed? Do you feel any acceleration at all?

Yes engine speed increases but speed of car does not. This happens 85% of the time.

Re: camshaft position (CMP) sensor E041 error code + E047

Seems bizarre that it happens a fraction of the time. A physical hardware problem, like a bad clutch pack, would slip all the time. Maybe someone has a chart for your E047...
