    sudden loss of cruise control

    hi guys,

    drivin around an 88 deville plugs/cap/etc within the past couple months. just recently had to change the ignition cylinder. that sucked and all but things were good until suddenly one morning the cruise control wouldn't work..i get all the lights as if it were on just no actual maintaining of speed. i've double checked all vacuum lines and theres nothing amiss there...any thoughts?

    Pull the DTC's. Post them AND their definitions.

    Check the fuses. Check the disengage switch on the brak pedal ( I think yours might be adjustable).

    That codes go a long way back. Not sure whether useful or not, at my friend DTS the plastic wire shoe dry rotted and the wire (Ranger I learned something, not cable but wire it is) simply fell out and hid under the air filter housing:

    Cruise light came on when attempted to activate, little light in the switch worked, and the defect was so stupidly simple ...
