Let us know what the fix is. I am beginning to think this may be a bad ignition switch or a bad connection at the battery, fuse block in the engine bay or starter. I don't recall but did you check the starter relay and solenoid?

Checked the starter relay, started solenoid is ready to install.

For whatever reason, N*'s are the only motors where I've seen the nut loosen.
    Aztec was right!

Re: Not starting issue - won't crank.

    UPDATE:

Yesterday, for the first time after the car was starting #1 maybe 50 times, it didn't start, had to play with accessories. I didn't wait and I removed the intake, to see what's the problem.

I removed the positive nut from the starter and tried to install a lock nut, but a welding in the solenoid broke (and I wasn't even tighting the lock nut, the nut barely entered the threads).

I also discovered that a bolt nearby was not so tight, so I tightened it.

    So far so good...

Not common, but that'll certainly do it.

Glad you're back on the road. (sorry, missed this last week)
You might have over tightened it a little.

I suspected that solenoid all along. Probably was a combination of a bunch of things. That weak weld certainly didn't help.

Glad you're back on the road!

Love the pics, btw. Nice to see what's up first hand.

You may want to check the crankshaft positioning sensors. There are two an A and a B. This will prevent the engine from cranking.

Wrong. Bad CKP sensors will NOT prevent the engine from cranking. They CAN cause an extended crank time.

That said, I suspect it's fixed by now.

Re: Not starting issue - won't crank.

Guys, I need to get to my starter to check the connections too. I had an intermittent problem for 3 months now it's getting bad, taking me 10 minutes to start the car after playing with buttons and tapping my relay box. My relay fires but I get no action, no noise from the engine/starter. I am hoping that it's just a loose connection at the starter or even if the starter is bad, I'm cool and I'll replace the thing. It seems like pulling the head and intake off is relatively easy if I have the right tools. Is this correct? I'm certainly no mechanic but would like to think I can put back together what I take apart because I hear the loose connections at the starter seems common in the Deville.

No need to touch the heads. Just remove the intake manifold. It's in the valley.

Loose connections are not very common.
