all these suggestions seem good but first i would pull the battery and have it checked because 12+ volts does not mean you have a good battery you could have a dead cell witch can mean you do not have enough amps. take it to Autozone or advanced they will check it for free.

Re: Not starting issue - won't crank.

If it's the starter you should hear a loud click from it when you turn the key but nothing more. If you don't even get that then it's more then likely something else like the passkey, starter relay somewhere etc...

It's strange that engine movement from worn engine mounts would affect the ground, usually there is a lot of slack in ground cables to compensate for engine movement.

I wouldn't put much stock in the motor mount, ground cable theory.

Re: Not starting issue - won't crank.

I have my starter solenoid ready to install but for the third day in a row, the car starts fine in the morning with the remote control. I only start it btw, I don't use it for a ride. It seems like it'll always start with the remote. Next time it doesn't start with the key, I'll try with the remote control.

    Thanks a LOT guys!

Re: Not starting issue - won't crank.

Many people who install remote starters eventually run into starting and TheftLock problems. You would not be the first. Also, the 2000 - 2003 series of FWD cars had a few ignition switch problems for no-start problems. The switch is on the back of the ignition lock cylinder and is a separate, replaceable part - after removing the dash or steering column, depending on model ???

Re: Not starting issue - won't crank.

Regarding someone's question as to why I didn't just repair the original ground cable - Because it only took me five minutes to add the second ground cable, and I assume it would have taken longer to find and fix or replace the original one that I suspect had failed.

It solved a similar problem on my 2000 Deville.

I'm not sure where the original ground is located, but the one I added runs from where the radiator top hose attaches to the engine (I may have misidentified that earlier as the thermostat housing,) with the other end bolted to the frame where I could find an easily accessible bolt.

I had same problem, ran a separate ground all was good. Just take a jumper cable, hook it to the ground tab or hoisting plate on the engine and hook the other end to an unpainted chassis bolt to test it next time it won't start. If it works then add the ground cable. The original ground cable is on passenger side from frame to I believe the rear cylinder head

Re: Not starting issue - won't crank.

Installed a ground cable this afternoon, started the car 6-7 time since the fix and only once I had to play with lights button. It wouldn't start 2/3 times before...

Hard to tell for sure from here, but those do not look like good grounds to me.

This sounds like more then a grounding problem. And from that picture it looks like you connected then engine side of it to the plastic intake. That's not going to do anything.

Re: Not starting issue - won't crank.

Changed the location and it's without success, doesn't change anything to the won't crank issue. Should I go with the first idea of changing starter solenoid?

    ----------

Btw I discovered something: I ask my girlfriend to play with radio buttons and I play with lights button while trying to start the car. The car will start after less then 10 seconds of turning key off/on constantly. The more buttons I push, the faster it'll start.

Grounds must be clean. That's a rusty looking bolt by the strut mount. Did you clean the underside first?

Re: Not starting issue - won't crank.

Yes I cleaned the frame with sandpaper. Did the same thing with the engine bolt.

Today, hot and sunny day, I couldn't start the car at all. I called a towing and I got an apointment with a car electricity expert tomorrow.
