    Re: Deville acting weird

What ??? With your foot on the gas and the brakes applied the car should feel like it wants to "go".

If the idle is erratic, do some searching for TB cleaning and ISC/IAC diagnosis.

If the oil icon is flickering at idle, engine warm, do a search for how to replace the AC Delco oil pressure sending switch.

Google "cadillac forums northstar throttle body cleaning" and "cadillac forums northstar oil pressure sender replacement".

There are several threads on these problems within the past 5 days running in here, Seville, and Northstar performance.

Have you studied the sticky post ^^^ "How to pull codes" to find out if your car is telling you anything in its built-in code reader/memory ??

Throttle Body cleaner and and old toothbrush or lint-free cloth should do the trick.

Then it sounds as if you are going to need one more tool: Cash.

For this job, the only tool you need is a screwdriver.

welcome....the throttle body is really easy to clean, once you get access to the throttle, clean on both sides and make it sparkal....you should be able to see your reflection if it was like mine....that is my two cents...oh yea....they all act weird

I'd say you have some puddling of throttle body cleaner. If it idles ok, but "putters" when you give it throttle, then the engine is sucking in the excess cleaner. That's my theory anyway. You could pull the throttle body and try to dry up the inside with rags, or just leave it off and let it evaporate.
