    What happened??

    So my favorite spot to do carbon cleanouts was free of traffic on Friday on my way home from work so I did 4 40-70-in-2nd runs. No problems there. When I finished the last one I was around 5 miles from the house. From that point forward the engine started heating up. It is 5 miles of steady 40-50mph speeds but the temp didn't back off. It went from 190 to up to 225 by the time I parked it and shut it off. It has never done this before. I know some of you have Caddys that run hotter but mine does not. Typically when I do this I get a little extra heat it might run just over 200 until I get home. But what concerned me was the steady rise even though I was driving at an even 45 with no stops. I drove it the next day and it seemed fine and this morning I had no issues also normal. Any ideas?

    yes...where dobu live, road may have been a little hottter...but check: purge line, all seals or gasket areas related to coolant sys. , make sure all hoses are tight, check coolant level in reaervoir: make sure u have some. normal coolant operating temp is, i believe, is 190 to 225. also pull ur codes ( sticky at top of page) and list with description if u have any....hope this will help...and if they respond listen to ranger, submariner or moist cabbage....

    Don't panic - check your coolant level cold, check the purge line flow, and make sure the water pump drive belt tensioner is nice and "springy" tight.

    You may have washed an air pocket out of the heater core and it took time to bleed off to the surge tank - the Northstar water pump DOES NOT like air bubbles.

    If it's been fine the nect day and this morning, i wouldn't loose any sleep over it. Consider it a hiccup.
