Hit big bump gauges reset u1000 hist.

I was at wot or close to it getting on the highway and went over a big gap. Made a good sized hit. Biggest I have hit made worse by the acceleration. Felt like traction control cut in for a second. I look down and dash totally reset like I just started the motor. Didn't die and hasn't done anything since. Checked codes and I get a u1000 history. Makes sense by the way it acted. Is it anything to worry about? I'm like 400 miles from home. Have drive about 100 since it did it with no issue. 2000 deville base.

Instantaneous voltage hiccup, Why ?? Anybody's guess. Start with a GOOD cleaning and tightening of all 4 battery cable terminals - All 4 = both ends of the + and - cables.

U codes come and go. The code may or may not have been in history before the bump.

I would be AMAZED if it were original. 5-6 years is usually about it for a battery.

Drove another 300 miles home with out issue. Strange but a relief it wasn't a sign the Alternator or something hard to replace wasn't on the verge of death.
