    Any codes?
Check for power at the clutch. If so and still not locking up i'd say the clutch is bad.
You've checked the pressures? Have you done any work recently.
I would also unhook the battery & see if it'll lock up

If you're dumping freon in and comp not running what's the point. You're gonna damage something is all.
Need to jump the conpressor and have pressure checked. How could you know the low/high sensors are good or bad either.

How are you getting it to take 2 lb without the compressor running?

I was going to ask the same question -

you can not "pump in" 2 pounds of freon without the compressor running -

what is the static pressure -

If car has no a/c codes than compressor should start. Yes, low freon will set a code and not allow compressor to engage. OP only says he added freon. Does not say why he added freon. If he was low before, and he was if he added 2lbs, than he should have codes if he did not clear them.

Jump the low pressure cutoff switch and see if the compressor starts/ac works. It is right near the firewall on the low pressure side (where you fill it - follow that tube towards the firewall). This is my problem as well. I am putting in a new switch tomorrow and hope that it is the switch. My system works perfect with the jumper switch on.

I read that you do not need to evacuate the system to replace that switch. That is has a shrader valve underneath it.

Any idea how much refrigerant was in the system when the 2lbs were added? Maybe it's overfilled and the high pressure switch is disabling it.
