I really need some help fast please!

I have a 92 Sedan Deville, I cracked the T fitting ( the one that the heater hose hooks up too)
Needless to say, she was throwing antifreeze everywhere. I went to the auto parts store that was right up the street. Of course they did not have the T fitting, they had a single one. I hooked up the two upper hoses, but left the bottom one off. My question is, what three hoses hook up into the T fitting? Especially wondering what the bottom hose is ( the onee that hooks into the bottom of the T)?
I really appreciate any help. Thank you so much.

I would think any old tee should get you home. I was able to buy the correct one at Carquest a couple years ago.

This doesn't answer your question, but I broke mine not too long ago. I was told at the parts store they didn't have the tee until I gave them the part number. This is the part number at O'Reillys if you have one close to your location.

The T has a restrictor in one leg. If you use one without it you'll have heat problems (as in lack of). Either get a T from a dealer or make a restrictor to match the one you have. I believe the restrictor is in the leg facing #14. Maybe this will help.

I had a hard time getting the correct one as well. I went to the plumbing aisle at Home Depot and picked up a "Shark Bite" tee and installed it in it's place. It is solid brass and has hose barbs which fit the unevenly sized hoses. Use some new stainless worm gear hose clamps and it should outlast the car. I never had any heat issues, but then again the coldest it has been is 30 or so. You could even give it a little spray of black paint to make it look more original.

That doesn't have a restrictor either.

the correct terminology is "heater control valve"

the restriction inside makes all the difference

Are you sure? A heater control valve varies flow to the heater core. The part in question is just a tee with one "leg" restricted, AFAIK.

I never had heat or temp issues with using the T without the restrictor. I know it is not the best fix, but in the absence of the correct part I wanted to relay that it works.

the terminology doesn't make sense but that's what it's called in the parts catalogs (GM and aftermarket)

Good to know about the terminology. Maybe that's why I had no success finding the right one. Even the dealer told me I was SOL.

For future reference, that restrictor affects nothing as far as adding to or subtracting from the functionality of the heat in the HVAC system. It's there to control the process of electrolysis and to prevent heater core leaks due to pressure drop across the heater core itself. Replacing it with a restrictorless T will have no effect on the heater's temp output...

That said, do you think the restrictorless one could shorten the life of the heater core enough to be concerned?
