Advice on soon Purchase of 04 DTS

Greetings all just trying to get some knowledge on what to look out for for this 04 deville .....

    Are there any known issues?

Is a wallet magnet (will it constantly need repairs)

Were the n* head gaskets still an issue for this year?

Anyone know how to get and how much vogue tires are?

Thankd for any and all input

    No.

Issues? Pop n drop windows. Certainly nothing to prevent you buying the car.

    Not in my experience.

Anyone know how to get and how much vogue tires are?
Vogues are over rated and overpriced. Just my $0.02

Head gaskets were improved by '04, but try not to ever let it overheat. Still a weak spot. Vogue "tyres" are available through Cadillac dealers and some Discount Tire stores. Not worth the money. Michelin Primacy MXV4 would be best. Smooth and quiet. Window regulators break on a consistant basis, then the door panels break trying to put everything back together. Depending on the miles, there were some issues the torque converter in the transmission, there will be codes to torque converter lockup failure or slippage.
Don't get me wrong, I am a Cadillac fan having owned 11 since 1978 and currently have an '06 DTS. I worked in sales for a Cadillac/Buick/Chev. dealer and sold them new and pre-owned. I'm just giving you the benefit of my years with Cadillac.

Overheating has absolutely NOTHING to do with Northstar head gasket bolt hole failure. NOTHING - from Day 1 of the engine.

Overheating is/was a product of failed gaskets leading to coolant loss and water pump cavitation, not the other way around.

Is they torque converter problem guaranteed to happen
there are no guarantees about anything -
the head gaskets may fail - or not -
the torque converter seals may fail - or not -
the window regulators may break - or not -
the expensive electronic struts and shocks may fail - or not -

This thread will help you determine if the 04 your looking at has the improved head bolts.

04 is a good year last year with 300hp and don't have to worry about the hg problem go for it I say a dts is a great choice

    ----------

All cars have issues main thing on a caddy as with all luxery cars is the electronics they have more crap on them so there more that can go wrong then say a chevy or ford all the extra fancy stuff like the dts's cvrss system just cost more money to fix then your average car also main thing that's killer on this car is not so much the parts. But the labor if your not doin it yourself because everythings in a pita spot not easy to get too

Suspension parts are very expensive for the DTS version of the Deville. For that reason alone I would hesitate buying one.
These cars are what I would consider high maintenance at the age that they are now, unless you happen to find one with much of the suspension replaced, along with the TCS issue, plenum, mode actuators, etc.

From what I read from the info available, the DTS version northstar in 04 still had the fine thread headbolts.

Not all cars, u need to check the engine ID my DTS 04 has the newer 2.0 threads heres the chart also u dont need to replace the CVRSS system with OEM acdelco parts u can bypass it with reguler passive monroe struts and shocks, and some cheap resisters from radio shack, or get the arnott passive kit

2004 N*'s with the following engine ID's have the M11x1.5 threads like the 00-03's have.

    JBA
    JCA
    LBA
    LCA
    JKB

2004 engine ID's that have the new and improved M11x2.0 threads like the 05's have.

    JBB
    JBC
    JKA
    JMA
    JMB
    JPA
    JPB
    LBB
