    95 deville sporadic starting

    Hey guys,
I have been a long time lurker around the forum whenever I have had a problem with my deville and you guys have always been a great help. I couldn't find a similar thread that closely matched my problem so I decided to make an account.
So for the past couple of weeks I've had on again off again problems starting my 4.9L Deville. Sometimes I'm able to start my car no problem when I go out in the morning, but sometimes I need to push on the gas pedal as I'm turning the key in the ignition to have it start. I will push on the pedal for 2-3 seconds after I turn the ignition and it will start up and ride fine. However, when I don't push the gas pedal it will crank and turn over for a second, but then shut right off. Everything in the car turns on like normal and then i will turn the key back and turn it forward again and sometimes i need to push on the gas pedal a little bit longer/harder then it will start up. Also, if I drive somewhere and I'm there for 30 minutes or less I can come right out and start my car with no problem 9 times out of 10. I don't think its my spark plugs since I just had a tune-up done last July. I have been reading that it might be the pressure of my fuel pump though on other threads, but the situation isn't exactly the same. As I said once it is started its rides like a beauty. I just don't want to keep doing this and end up damaging something else or multiple things.
    When I run my codes I am getting history: P030, P039, P052, I022, T072, and T077 current: P055, A010.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Oh and one other thing I can add is that I have a remote start and before this started happening I was using my remote start to warm up my car in the morning because it was cold around in the area and it worked no problem. I don't think this will be a factor in my problem though.

Check out some of the ISC adjustment threads in this section. It sounds like yours isn't working right or needs adjusting. Does it idle fine at stop lights? A vacuum leak could cause starting problems but it would probably run different when running. You can look up those code definitions in the sticky at the top of this section.

Codes are great, but without their definitions they are meaningless. No one has them memorized. Help us help you and always post them with the codes.

Might check the fuel pressure and the FPR for a leak.

Is the ISC motor activating at key on?

Sorry about just giving the codes numbers, here is what I am getting:
    History:
I022 Panel Dimming Switch Pot Circuit
P030 ISC RPM out of range
P039 Torque Converter Clutch/ Viscous Converter Clutch Engagement Problem
    P052 PCM Memory Reset
    T072 Serial Data Link Fault
T077 .. No information on this on the codes sheet

    Current:
    A010 Outside Temperature Sensor Circuit
P055 Closed Throttle Angle Out of Range

To answer your questions Al and Ranger:
Al, I will look through these threads as I do feel as if I am getting an extra "jump" when I take my foot off the brake when the light turns green. I wasn't sure if it was just me or not either, but when I take my foot of the peddle even at 25-30 MPH it coasts for a while before going down any MPH. I will look at similar threads about ISC problems. This has been a problem before and has been replaced twice in 4 years of having the car, so when this started happening I didn't initially think this would be the problem again.

Ranger I'm going to try and make my way over to auto zone today to try and loan a pressure sensor and see if my PSI is at 45 or not. How do I check the FPR for a leak? When I was looking under the hood and my friend put the key in the OFF position, the ISC didnt move at all but when he turned the key back to the LOCK position and pulled the key out the ISC would make about ten clicking noises then the 'bolt' popped a little bit which happened three times then turned off.

Also, should I be worried about any of the codes that are on the history list? Or P055 that is current? I am not too worried about the thermostat because its been broken for a year or two and hasn't seemed to effect the car at all. And as far as I saw on other threads even if I replace the part, sometimes the temperature still doesn't read on the dash and there are other problems causing it not to read.

P055 Closed Throttle Angle Out of Range

either the throttle body is dirty -
and the throttle plates are hanging up -

or the Throttle Position Sensor is out of adjustment -

or the Throttle Position Sensor needs to be replaced -

To check the FPR just pull the vacuum hose off of it while at idle. It's the small canister on the fuel rail. If you see any sign of fuel at the nipple, it needs to be replaced.

While you're cleaning the TB, be sure that the 2 EGR tubes down in it are not carboned closed. If so, rod them out.
