get a o4 or 05, 05 is the best, redesigned head bolts in late 04 and 05 so head gaskets are non existent

Don't believe half of what you read in an internet discussion site. Read as much as you can and, as knowledge is gained, the good advice stays and you throw away the garbage.

Strictly engine-wise, The 2003 - 4 - 5 FWD Deville series (especially the DTS) was the best of the lot. (The later 2006+ is NOT a Deville - different breed of cat.) Find a creampuff DTS from those years and inspect it thoroughly. If the car is on the Korner Kar Korral lot or someone's front lawn and the deal is too good to be true, walk. Don't even think twice.

You'll be buying a Cadillac that originally sold for $50,000 +++ - THAT's where your maintenance costs will lie - not at the $8,000 used car level. Be ready for maintenance and repairs - it will not be cheap, especially if you're not an experienced gearhead.

I merged your companion thread with this one - essentially the same question - and, if you think about it - Post the question in CTS and that's the best car; post it in Deville, that's the best car...................

Do you really want your cell phone number posted in a worldwide public forum ?
