here is what makes this useless - look at the first step -

1 Was the SIR Diagnostic System Check performed?
    --
YES - Go to Step 2
NO - Go to SIR Diagnostic System Check

    --------------------------------------------------
do you think the OP knows HOW to do a SIR Diagnostic System Check -
you can't even go to the second step without performing the check -
and if he simply skips over that part -

    --------------------------------------
2 Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
Connect a scan tool to the DLC.

    ------------------------------------------
do you suppose the OP has a scan tool?

    remember the old adage:

give a man a fish - he will eat one meal -

TEACH a man to fish - he will eat for a lifetime -
    ------------------------

    same thing applies here -
show someone HOW to pull their own codes -

and tell them WHERE to find the definitions -

then they aren't DEPENDENT on us to do it for them -

    Bass, Totally useless!

There is a wealth of information here, you just have to sort it out like DIMM checks (it even tells you what type of Meter to use).

Inspecting the system checking for corrosion, loose or broken wires etc.

If the poster can not find any problems print it out and take it to someone who has a tech 2,you will have some idea of the problem and the tech will have a hard time selling you muffler bearings.

I would hope the tech would respect you more and work with you because you took the time to try and repair the car yourself.

("teach a man to fish") What garbage! Its a smoke screen to get out of helping the needy while you are cutting back on schools and teachers.

If a person responded to me like lac has in this post I would thank him. Mike

    Wow man

    Thanks for the positive affirmation!!!

I thought I'd try to provide any information and let u decide what was good or not

I dnt have a code reader (except the IC) or tech 2 scanner but I always like to read everything the service manual says about the codes I get

Helps me understand what the pro mechanic guys will be doing to my car... Aside of selling me Muffler Bearings, lol!

    Thanks and glad to help!!!
